The AFSF bilingual summer camp is a French introduction and immersion program which accommodates both new learners and fluent French speakers, from ages 4 years 9 months to 12 years old.

We welcome all children in a happy, caring, and relaxed atmosphere.

🌞 Bilingual French Summer Camp – Immersive & Creative Learning! 🎨🎶

Give your child a summer of fun, creativity, and French immersion! Our Bilingual French Summer Camp at the Alliance Française of San Francisco is designed for children of all language backgrounds, from fluent speakers to beginners. Through engaging activities, artistic exploration, and interactive discussions, campers will enhance their French skills while having a blast!

🎓 Morning Program: Strengthen Academic Skills!

Mornings are our academic time, designed to help campers combat summer learning loss and prepare for the next school year. The structured morning sessions include:

📝 Math & English Review – Campers revisit key material from the previous school year to reinforce skills and strengthen their foundation for the year ahead.
🌟 French Class – Through writing, speaking, listening, and educational games, campers will develop their French language skills in an engaging and supportive environment.

After lunch, afternoons are a time for more fun yet enriching activities – a chance to relax, explore, and have fun with new friends!

🎭 Afternoon Program: Explore Art & Culture!

🎥 1:00 PM – Short Francophone Film & Discussion (30 min max)
Campers will watch and discuss a short film in French, helping them develop listening comprehension and cultural awareness.

🎨 1:45 – 3:20 PM – "Un Jour, Un Artiste" (One Day, One Artist) With the Francophone Museum
Each afternoon, children will discover a famous Francophone artist and create their own masterpiece in that artist’s style!
🎨 Part 1: Learning about the artist – their photo, dates, and artistic style.
🖌️ Part 2: Hands-on creative project – kids will create their own artwork inspired by the artist!

🎶 3:45 PM – French Song & dancing Activity
Children will end the day on a high note, singing French songs and learning rhythm through interactive music games!

🥪 Meals & Snacks

Parents are responsible for providing lunch and an afternoon snack for their child each day. The Alliance Française will provide a morning snack to all campers.

AFSF Bilingual Summer Camp (1 week)

1-Week Summer Camp

Mornings are our academic time, with a review of math and English material from the previous school year to combat summer learning loss and strengthen skills for the next school year. During French class, our campers will learn French through writing, speaking, listening, and educational games.

Each afternoon, campers will enjoy a short Francophone film and discussion, explore the world of renowned Francophone artists through creative projects, take a snack break, and end the day with French songs and interactive dance activities for a fun and immersive cultural experience.

What documents do I need to fill Out ?

We will need to fill out our Registration form here:

And the paper OR docusigned version of our summer camp waiver form (this will be emailed to you after registration).

Pricing and Discounts

Price for 1 week is $525.

Price for 1 week of half days is $265 (no discounts).

No day registration available in advance. Please contact us 4 days before the week starts for partial registration and we'll see if we can accommodate it. Price for one day camp $120. No discounts are available for half days.

Hours of operation / Drop off and pICK UP rules

Each camp will last for full days from 9:00 am to 4:30 pm.

Check in will be held between 8:55 am and 9:30 am each morning.

Sign out is between 4:00 and 4:30 pm. You must pick up your child by 4:30 pm.

Early drop off and aftercare

We may offer early drop off and aftercare, if there is enough interest. If you are interested in early drop off 8:30 to 9:00 and or aftercare 4:30 to 5:00 (with additional cost, $100 per week for both) please email us at camps@afsf.com.
We could add this service if we receive sufficient interest from parents.

pick up rules/ authorized adults

I can't pick up my child, can I ask someone else to pick him/her up for me?

Yes IF the person is on your authorized pickup list (in the form you filled with us)
OR if you email us (only written email will be valid, no phone call, no text message) with the name of your child, your name, and the name of the responsible adult (over 18) plus phone number to add on the authorized pick up list. Please also confirm if you want the person to be authorized on only one/ several specific date(s) or for the duration of the camp.

IMPORTANT !

We will NOT release your child to a person under 18, even if it's his/her sibling.
We will NOT release your child to anyone (even the parent of another child) who is NOT on your authorized pick up list or for which we have not receive a written confirmation
Any adult will need to show photo ID to pick up a child before signing the document.
Every child MUST be signed IN AND OUT by an adult from the authorized pick up list EVERY MORNING AND EVERY AFTERNOON at the front desk. We will NOT allow any child to enter or leave the building if not accompanied by one authorized adult.
Your child WILL NEVER be allowed to come/leave alone by bus.

What to do if we are running late/ my child is sick

What to do if we are running late / have a doctor appointment or need to pick up early ?

Please email our camp coordinator at camps@afsf.com and cc the front desk at afsf@afsf.com to let us know what time you plan to drop off or pick up.

What to do if my child is sick?
Please stay home even if you think it's not Covid related, email our camp coordinator at camps@afsf.com to let us know and take a Covid test ASAP! Let us know the results as soon as you have them.

COVID-19 VACCINE POLICY

We Highly recommend children to be fully vaccinated against covid before attending the camp. However, starting 2023, we will no longer require proof of vaccination.

financial assistance

We know that for some families, the cost of attending Summer Camps can be a financial burden that they might not be able to afford. At L’Alliance Française de San Francisco we have different tiers of pricing for our camp program for families earning less than 75% of the median rate income, based on data from 2022, on gross earnings (Before taxes).

We can only offer 2 specific rates for each week on a "first-come, first-serve" basis, giving priority to children who have not already received it already the same calendar year.
